What do you like about Pilates?

What do you like about Pilates. Do you like it because it tones your stomach, legs and bottom? Is it because it gives you and hour to escape your day to day world? What do like most and least about Pilates?

Friends have said I'm more toned and I feel that. Also it is an escape from routine!! I like Shouder bridge the most and the plank. I like holding tennis ball between ankles least as I have tender spot there.

It definitely helps you to lose weight as before starting Pilates in january 2007 I had stubbornly remained at a certain weight for a while and now I'm below that. My stomach isn't as bad now too. Of course diet and other exercise(I walk) is important too. I've got 2 weddings to go to that's a big incentive to lose weight.

i can't say there is anything i dislike- I wish I could go to more!

I do get worried I don't do the exercises correctly, but I am really enjoying the classes- it relaxes me, it tones me; I don't go "oh no, I can't be bothered tonight".
I am far more aware of my posture & what helps & hinders my body, which I find really interesting.

Hey Neil, just to say, The "Back to Basics moves" class was really good- the Scissors move was class as well as the one for mobility in the spine, sitting, crossed arms in front- I dont think i've felt a stretch like it in my spine, it felt great!, as well as a good few others- I forget all the names! And I'm really starting to "enjoy" the pilates version (can't remember the name!!) of Downward Dog! Because I know it has good benefits for me- thank you so much! Your are a great, encouraging teacher. Can't wait for the Video movements to go up!!

I have been attending Neil's classes for a few months and the difference in my posture is so noticeable. People keep saying how much weight I have lost - not so - all about Neil's great tuition. His classes have helped with my posture - with how I carry myself. I feel great after one of his classes. He is a very calm, encouraging instructor. His classes are an oasis in a very busy week - I feel calmer and more in tune with my body after one of his classes.
